Quicktime error -120

Question

Quicktime error -120

I'm trying to send a batch of sequences to compressor in order to compress them using h.264 but the compression job fails giving me Quicktime Error -120.

I can't seem to find this particular error code or better yet how to fix it.

Any ideas?

I solved my own issue. The problem turned out to be the length of the file names that compressor was creating. I shortened the file name length and and that fixed the problem.

As a workaround for the -120 errors, I noticed the Compressor application menu has a choice for Reset Background Processing... which does get things working again, but isn't really a good solution and suggests there's a bug in the background application (qmasterd).

Perfect! Reset Background Processing in Compressor Application Menu solved the same problem for me. Thanks for the hint.
