I updated my ipad and never received a code. How do I get the code to open it back up?

HOw do I get a code to get back into my ipad after I updated it?!

What 'code' are you expecting ?

If you mean passcode to unlock it : If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
