I’ve noticed my iPhone 8 Plus (10 days old) if the battery goes all the way dead, the phone becomes non-responsive to a charger. It can be up to 2 hours on a charger until the phone will come back on.
I also notice that more often than not, it won’t charge on my wireless charger. So far not a good purchase, not super impressed I the quality of something I spent $1100 on.
Have you thought of maybe having it checked out for a hardware fault? Batteries are really the weakest link in a phone. They can randomly suffer from failures and inherently degrade over time. If there's a problem you might possibly get a replacement phone under warranty.
That’s what I think I may do. Problem is that the nearest apple store cannot get me in until next week. I may do the diagnostic over live chat and see if there’s anything they can find
