I upgraded my MacBook to High Sierra and lost my entire address book.

In December, I upgraded my 2013 MacBook Air to High Sierra (10.13.2) which seems to have deleted my address book. I can open the address book but there are no contacts. Any suggestions? I do have a older backup on a hard drive if I need to use it.

if you decided to move it to iCloud, you'd always have access to it. I hesitated for years but am satisfied I finally did the iCloud move. Not everything just contacts, notes, bookmarks and my comcast email.
