have a new 8, everytime i try to download existing apps like whatsapp etc it states ‘verify and view billing info’ but how and where?

Go to Settings > Tap Apple ID, iCoud, iTunes & App Store
Tap Payment and Shipping and make sure your credit card is current for your Apple ID.
