Quicktime 7 Pro licence key

You can no longer buy a QuickTime 7 pro license from the Apple Store. It seems to have been retired.

I was wondering how people can continue to use the software?

Is there a generic software key available so that people can still use the software if they wish?

Does the normal copyright apply for old software? Would we be able to 'share' our software key for this discontinued software, or does the usual copyright still apply?

I have a website macintoshhowto.com and I have an article explaining some of the benefits of QuickTime 7 pro.

I have had several people contact me saying the QuickTime 7 Pro license key is no longer available. I am not sure what to advise them.
