print and scan issues

When I use Mac's default print/scan software (system preferences>Printers&Scanners>Scan/Print), my prints and scans come out very odd. The scans produce blurry documents and the prints produce what looks like overlapping text. Has anyone else experienced this issue? In order to get a clean scan, I need to use HP Easy Scan. However, this is only effective 50% of the time as my computer seems to disconnect every so often.

I have been experiencing an enormous amount of software bugs. I am hoping to submit as many software issues as possible in order to help fix MacOS bugs because I really do not want to, but am very tempted to make the switch back to Windows. Please help.
