iPhone5 charge/not charge when connected to Macbook Air

Hello everybody,

Symptoms:

iPhone iPhone emits repeating buzzing noise AND shows charging/not charging on front screen when connected to MBA via USB (see attached screenshot for system information>Hardware>USB) - no matter which USB port the phone is plugged into.

iPhone charges fine when plugged into the wall.

Using original Apple USB and adapter.

Using MBA early 2014 (macOS High Sierra, version:10.13.3)

Hello, it looks like no one has responded to your question. Here are a couple things that might help others answer your question:

1. Are you using the same cable used in the wall on the MacBook Air?

2. Does it do this using multiple cables while connected to the MacBook Air?

3. Does it do this on another computer (Mac or PC) with the same cable while connected through the USB port?
