could not backup my iphone x to my computer and the phone did not pass the synchronization diagnostics

I'm guessing this is an iTunes for WIndows issue (posted in the iTunes for Mac forum).

Maybe:

Gather and use iTunes Diagnostics in iTunes for Windows - https://support.apple.com/HT202069
