Want to update my car satnav but need to download the MAZDA TOOLBOX application from the Mazda website, can do this ok and it is suitable for IOS 10.10 and above but doesn't install when clicked, instead it opens the mac applications folder. Doesn't seem to run the .dmg programme. Any solution to this?

If it is an iOS application it needs installing on that, not your Mac. You can drag and drop locally stored .ipa files to your device where it shows in the iTunes sidebar.
Ah, found it at Mazda-na.Naviextras.com - Map updates for your navigation system and more... Perhaps you need to redownload the disk image. Has it simply open the applications folder, or is there also an icon for the app that you're being encouraged to drag and drop into it?

when one click on dmg files they should display a window with a short cut to the application folder and an icon for the program then one drags the program icon to the application folder shortcut and it's added to applications

iOS is what iPhones, iPads and the likes run they have a different cpu
Didn't do anything different but this time button opened and started installation programme.
