Can Siri read my text messages to me in my car the same way that Cortana did with my Windows phone?

With Windows Phone, if your phone is paired with your car via Bluetooth, Cortana will ask if you want to read the message when a text message comes in. Then you can also reply with your voice and Cortana will send the text message reply.

How do I get this to happen with my new iPhone?

Just say 'Read me my text messages'. At the end of each message, Siri will ask what you want to do (reply, discard, move to next message, etc.)

Does that mean there is no way to get the iPhone to prompt me when a message comes in? What if I have music playing and I don't hear a notification that I have a new text message?
