manage iOS 11 apps via iTunes 12.6.3

I'm still using iOS 10.3.3 in order to retain full control of my apps.

With iOS 11 can one still manage apps in order to save old versions of the .ipa files and put them back when required?

I currently do this with iOS 10.3.3 and iTunes 12.6.3 on OSX10.13.3 by moving .ipa files from the trash into a folder to save them. Then by deleting the newer app from the iOS device, dragging the older version of the app onto iTunes 12.6.3 then sync and have the previous version of the app installed on the iOS device.

How to install "old" IOS apps? I'm running iTunes 12.5.6.3 in order to be able to manage my IOS apps. Unfortunately I've upgraded an IOS app to a newer version and that version is crap compared to the old one. I have the old ipa file and I've copied it back to the Mobile Applications folder in iTunes, but it's not showing up in "Library" in iTunes, and so I' cannot install it on my iPhone (I've deleted the new version, of course). Ad Free Words w Friends app install Salvete Omnes, I just found an old version of Words w Friends (from 2013 or so) in a backup of my iTunes library that I had stored on an external HD, and I believe this is an ad-free version. I cannot bear playing the current version of the game due to the flood of ads that Zynga throws at me, and I was wondering if there was a way to install the .ipa file on my phone.
