iphone x screen unresponsive and doing random things

Hi. My 6 week old iPhone X has become unresponsive on the touch screen and randomly opens apps on its own. Help! I’ve tried the reset option (volume up:down / power key)

Since you have already tried the restart method, I would suggest the following:

Perform a "Reset All Settings" reset.

Hi. Tried that and reinstalled everything. Same response from the screen but thank you anyway.

Sorry, but it sounds like you need to make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store to have them take a look.
