Mac won’t let me enter password
My iMac won’t let me enter the password on start-up screen. It is as if the keyboard is dead. But I know it works because I’m using it right now on the iPad.

Un-pair it from your iPad and see if it will automatically re-pair with your Mac.
If not, then you may need to use a USB keyboard to login so that you get the the Bluetooth preference and troubleshoot the keyboard connection.
For additional trouble shooting, see > If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad isn't working as expected - Apple Support
If you are unable to type anything with the keyboard that you are using with your iMac, have you tried using a different keyboard? For example, if you are using a wireless keyboard, have you tried using one that plugs into the iMac's USB port?
Keyboard. Just will not respond to keystrokes.
Doesn’t work with wired usb keyboard or the Bluetooth connected keyboard.
What doesn't work..? The keyboards or your password...?
It’s working now but with just the wireless. Thx for help.
That is good news, you're welcome!
