Upgrading to Yosemite lost my rules and signatures.How do I recover?

Upgrading to Yosemite lost my rules and signatures. Lost rules both on Cloud Mail and on my local iMac Mail account. How do I recover my rules and signatures?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), Custom 27", 2.8 GHz i7, 16GB RAM

Signatures dissapeared - never upgrade again iMac upgraded to 10.14.2 and as the last time when it upgraded to Yosemite I lost all signatures in Mail! Now this is driving me nuts. Why did I ever upgraded, I will never upgrade again. There is always something screwed up after that. Not only signatures disappeared but I cannot format them any more. Before I could copy old signature that was written in bold, red, grey and whatever and drop it into signature box but now it will appear black only with no nice formatting. I am salesman, have 7 e-mail addresses and about 40 signatures. I spent considerable time writing them and making them nice. All gone. Why Apple?

Mail rules Still running OS10.14 here due to there being no 64 bit accounting software available to me, using Mail v12.4. Yesterday, all my Mail rules disappeared from preferences. Judging by the times the mail stopped being moved from one folder to another under the rules that disappeared, I was on a train at the time around 60 miles away from my Mac. (my mac would have been awake though) Have restarted to no avail, I'm probably able to rebuild the rules reasonably easily, but it kinda concerns me why this happened. Anyone have any insight.
