I have iCloud setup on my Mac (Sierra) and it is syncing desktop and documents. The problem I am having is that I can't seem to delete documents that I no longer want. iCloud keeps putting them back. I have even tried logging into iCloud in Safari, going to that folder and delet
Still no one having this issue?
I have now tried several times to login to iCloud and delete the files in question. Trashed and Empty trash. All files are magically back on my desktop. This is really annoying.

Have you tried going to System Preferences/iCloud/iCloud Drive/Options and turn off Documents and Desktop syncing. Delete the file from the computer and empty the Trash. Go to iCloud.com/iCloud Drive, delete the file and empty the Trash. Then turn Documents and Desktop syncing on.
So you are saying that the only way to get iCloud to allow you to properly delete files/folders in Documents or Desktop on your computer and in the cloud is to turn it on and off every time? That makes no sense to me.
I am not saying that you should have to turn it off/on every time. It makes no sense to me why it wasn't working the way you were trying to do it. I was just trying to find a workaround for this one file.
Oh, I am not blaming you at all. Please don't take it that way. I was just expressing my annoyance with iCloud in general. If the only way to properly delete files is to turn it on and off then it is a useless service that I am paying for. I should have a lot more control over how it backs up and syncs data.
Is this a problem with just Sierra 10.12.6?
I wasn't taking it personally. You are the first post I've read that has had the deletion problems you are having, so I'm not sure if it is OS specific or not.
