Has anyone ever purchased a new IPhone 7 with missing parts?

I purchased a new IPhone 7 from a Verizon store in Fort Wayne, Indiana on January 25th. A month later I started having trouble with the battery. The phone would not charge. The battery went from 100% to 1% suddenly and it turned off and on randomly. I went to an official Apple store in Madrid, Spain where I live and the tech there opened my phone and said it was missing parts that cover the battery and display, so it wasn’t covered by the warranty. They wouldn’t fix it for free. I called the store where I bought the phone, and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Suggestions?
