Time Machine Issue on Macbook Pro

Greetings To All

As I Just Said in The Subject Line, I'm having an issue with backing up my data on my Macbook Pro 15',it was working fine until I installed the latest "Sierra O/S".

It ask for the password in which I provide, it then ask for which ext drive I want to use I have a WD 1TB Mypass book, in which I attempt to start the backup, but I comes up saying that there is an error.

In addition, I've noticed that the "On/Off" button no longer appears whenever I load up the "Time Machine Preference Window". Can someone Please Advise Me On How To Solve This issue...

Thank You In Advance & Have A Good One!!!

MyPassport 1TB ext HD Info on “Errors

It ask for which HD I want to use , and I chose the WD MyPassport, but it returns saying the following:

There was an error preparing the Time Machine backup disk “My Passport for Mac”

This disk is already reverting.

Once I click on “OK” it shows me this window: The password for the disk “MyPassport For Mac” is required to turn off encryption.

When I put in the correct password,it shows me this window:

There was an error preparing the Time Machine backup disk “My Passport for Mac”

This disk is already reverting.

Which is the same window prior to that window. it also says that if I wish to start another backup to rename the disk to do the backup, however I will lose all of the information that was currently stored on that disk.

I’ve got about a full year’s with of data on it, and I don’t want to lose any of the data.

Please Advise!!!…

Thank You So Much In Any Assistance You Maybe Able To Render!!!...
