final cut pro, suddenly vertical stripes in my project I am working on.

I was working on my first project in final cut pro. Everything went well until suddenly I only saw vertical stripes or maybe the whole thing squished together. Did I press something wrong? Can this be fixed? Please help!

Mac Book Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

There is also the GUI for adjusting:

Sounds like your magnification has been inadvertently set to the - minus end of the scaling for the Timeline.

Use Cmd-plus and minus to zoom in and out of the timeline.
