How do I restart my initialization?

My phones SIM card wasn’t installed correctly during initializatation. How do I start over and connect my sim to my phone number?

Hi. I just wanted to tell you what I had to do. I usually go to our local mall to the Verizon store and they do it. For some reason they decided to be a little rude and said it wasn’t there job to do it. It was an upgrade that I got through them. I called Verizon and was helped and it wasn’t my SIM card but my cord wasn’t all the way plugged in. The Verizon employee told me I had to go into my settings and restore to factory settings (or whatever that says) and start over. That’s the only way we could get it to work.
