Question:

Question: Slow iMac

Dear community

i bought an iMac in late 2015. I have found it runs quite slowly particularly on startup of apps. Could it be because for last 10 years whenever I have bought a new Mac I have used migration assistant to copy across my whole HD and settings? Therefore the current iMac is a clone of a clone of a clone of my old Laptop from 2007?

i have tried various things like disk repair and booting into safe mode as well as disabling all my login items but there is still often a lot of slowness. Any ideas?

Etrecheck is perfectly safe. There have been some poachers around who have bundled the program with Malware and Adware. It could be the result of people downloading from such sites have unfairly blamed Etrecheck.

Always get your downloads from the designer's site. https://etrecheck.com/body>
