Macbook Pro 2016 - Won't Connect to Internet via USB-C adapter ethernet cable.

I recently purchased an Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (Late 2016, Space Gray)

I also went ahead and purchased a USB-C adapter from Amazon in order to connect my devices & run an ethernet cable from my router.

The issues I am facing -

- Computer won't connect to wifi when USB-C adapter is plugged in & ethernet cable is connected

- Must unplug USB-C adapter first, connect . to the wifi, later plug adapter in.

- Does not find / recognize ethernet cable when everything is connected.

Everything is working fine when it comes to the WiFi & Ethernet connection - has anyone had similar problems with USB-C adapters not allowing ethernet cables to connect?
