MacKeeper legit?

I keep getting a message from MacKeeper that my Mac is infected and then asking me to purchase a subscription. Is this a legit company? Can’t I just get support from Apple?

MacKeeper is garbage.

These people are lying to you to get your money. They are trying to scare you into paying them. Do not reward such Bad Behavior.
