iPhone SE backup

My iPhone SE last performed a succesful back on October 17 2017. Automatic backup is always on but the backup will not happen. Manual backup doesn’t work either, it just goes round and round trying to calculate backup time. When the phone goes into lock out, the phone “gives up” and aborts. Same story with iCloud photo library.
