Edit iCal US Holidays List?

Is there any way to edit the list of US Holidays in my iCal? I appreciate Apple's attempts to be inclusive, but I really don't need to see the holiday for every conceivable world religion and interest group... It would be nice to have an option of "just the basics" (Bank holidays) and then allow people to elect religious holidays (maybe that way Christians can see Easter...) and even extras that would include Earth Day, etc...

Less clutter. More options.

Thanks!

True, it is not our calendar, but it is titled US Holidays, yet is filled with all kinds of stuff which would not appear to represent holidays that anyone would even casually associate with the United States. If it's a holiday I've never heard of, that no U.S. federal/state/local government has recognized, and that no retail marketing has embraced, then the likelihood of me celebrating it, let alone needing it on my calendar, could be rather safely characterized as extremely low.

Perhaps if it were titled World Religions Holidays or Holidays I Found On Wikipedia That I Bet You Never Heard Of or Some Of These Holidays I Just Made Up To See If Anyone Was Paying Attention or some such name, there would be fewer complaints.

You can't edit the US Holidays calendar, but if you go to http://icalshare.com/ you can find a different holiday calendar to subscribe to (and then you would unsubscribe the the US Holidays calendar you are currently using). For example, search for United States Holidays and you will find a holiday calendar created by Jason Yount that seems to have more of a basic holiday list. Hope this helps!

It is not your calendar. It is one that you are subscribed to, and as indicated in the other responses, you have the ability to stop using that calendar and locate another calendar to subscribe to that meets your needs. The ability to edit a subscribed calendar is not possible.

Also, Apple does not see posts here. This is a user to user support forum, and Apple does not participate here. You have the ability to use the feedback link if you wish to have Apple see your views, https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html however, given that subscribed calendars have never had the ability to be edited, I doubt you will see a change.

If you are so upset about this, then take my earlier recommendation and delete the calendar from your subscriptions, and subscribe to a calendar that better meets your needs. There are quite a few of them out there. Just remember, if you find something on one of them you don't seem to like, you will not be able to delete it either, since you cannot edit data on a subscribed calendar. You can also share your thoughts with Apple here, https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html since they do not participate here on this forum.
