I created an Apple ID but when I fill in the billin*information it says payment method declined. It is a new iPad and I have tried 2 Apple ids and 4 debit cards with expiry dates ranging from 2109 to 2021. I have not made any purchase with any of the

New apple ID on new iPad says payment method declined. I have tried 4 debit cards and 2 ids.

It may be because they are debit cards, not all seem to still work with iTunes, you are more likely to have access with a credit card.


For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address as on your iTunes account and have been issued by a bank in the country where you are (and which is therefore the country on the account).


Declined card : If your payment method is declined, or you have a billing issue with a previous purchase in the iTunes Store - Apple Support

Make sure that the street address is the same as the billing address for the card. Make sure that you include a complete address (number, street, city, state, zip code or postal code)


Make sure you are spelling everything correctly. If available, compare your card billing statement information to the information you typed in. They have to match exactly.
