total content of my library (tracks/albums)?
It used to be displayed on iTunes long ago. I'd like to know how many tracks and albums my library is made of.
Many Thanks.
iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.6.3), Mac Book Pro; iMac 24"; iPhone 3GS

Of course, it says you have a Mac above, but you posted in iTunes for Windows, and I got distracted. I was going to try to show how to use the menu bar to turn the status bar on and off in an animated GIF, but the capture software I was going to use won't get the menu bar on a Mac, so I thought I'd try it in Windows, where I ran into the issue I mentioned. Seeing as the thread is iTunes for Windows I seized on the possible explanation.
On a Mac CMD+/ should show or hide the status bar. In the Songs view CMD+B will show or hide the column browser. With both enabled this is the kind of thing you ought to be able to see:

In the Songs view with the status bar showing you should see the total number of tracks in the library at the bottom of the iTunes window. In the Albums view it tells you how many albums there are.

Ah, it looks like the show/hide status bar option is missing from the view menu of iTunes 12.7.4.3 for Windows. It is there on a Mac, and should be available using the Ctrl+/ keyboard shortcut in Windows, but that isn't working. I guess you're stuck with the state of the status bar that you had last time you updated iTunes, and will be until the next one. 😕

Once again thank you for your valuable time! But I think we're missing an important point here: I use MAC, not Windows, so maybe that is the main confusion that gets us both frustrated. OS X 10.11.6 is my system.
Sorry about my belated answer to your kind reply: a friendly vendor at a Mac store put that finally clear to me. You were telling me all along to watch View and Status bar...of course! I now know my tracks number over 30,000...something I suspected. Thank You!!
Use View > Show Status Bar. Different views of the library will give you counts of artists, albums, songs, etc. Try also View > Column Browser > Show Column Browser.

Sorry, the info I'm looking for still doesn't appear...total number of tracks / albums in the Library...😢
Awfully sorry my friend...I also tried the iTunes settings to see whether this was missing but no...I still can't see what I'm looking for...many thanks for your time!
Hey that was MAGIC...I'm so thankful! Only the lower part with the items count won't appear. I suppose I must enable some other option I'm missing? Thank you for your patience!
CMD+/ shows or hides it here. Perhaps the bottom edge of your iTunes window is hiding behind the dock.

No, not really...I tried turning it upside down (just joking) and it won't work...well, at least now I know how many albums I have! (2,872 to be exact!). Thank You.
You're welcome. 🙂

Glad you got there in the end. 🙂
