A white box reappears and stays stuck on my MacBook Pro screen

I'm running macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 on a MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch. The white box below appears and even a restart can't get it to go away. What can I do? It's on the MacBook itself. The two external monitors I run stay clear and fine.

Thank you for your fast response, macjack. Just today the box came back and I got to check these steps, and unfortunately neither worked. "Go to folder" did work when I took out the period between "center.ui" in this command: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.notificationcenter.ui.plist

I moved the .plist folder to trash

I emptied the trash

The box is still there.

Back on March 2, when I wrote the post above, the blank notification box disappeared when I opened another app, Sametime.

Opening Sametime today and the blank notification box doesn't disappear.User uploaded file
