EtreCheck report took over 10 minutes to run. This is very unusual. --So what do I do now?

EtreCheck says my iMac is slow (which I know already). In Major Issues is says "Poor performance - EtreCheck report took over 10 minutes to run. This is very unusual." but that's all. Anyone have an idea where to look for a solution?
