Birthdays gone from Calendar

Suddenly, all my birthdays are gone from my calendar; records I'd been compiling for years. Think this happened with upgrade to High Sierra. I have a iMac Version 10.13.3. and Version 10.0 Calendar. Any way to get them back ? I have "show all events" checked? Could this be Cloud related, the birthdays are gone on my other devices (an iPad and a laptop)? I tried opening an old calendar file, from a storage device, but the calendar opened up to 2018 showing only the few birthdays i had added since i discovered the problem.
