The circle with a checkmark turns green when the original poster marks that an answer "Solved" the question.

If an is highlighted, a community specialist has been involved.
If nothing is highlighted, the question still needs an answer, so jump in and help the original poster, if you know an answer.
Where in the Photos for Mac application are you seeing this? I do not think there is any such display in thsi application
