What do the dots, stars, and Apples, below each question, represent? Some are illuminated, others are grey. Is there significance to the color of each?

Here in the Support Communities, you mean?

The circle with a checkmark turns green when the original poster marks that an answer "Solved" the question.

The star turns red when the original poster marks that an answer was "Helpful."

The apple icon turns black when an answer is marked "Apple recommended."

If an  is highlighted, a community specialist has been involved.
