I have been given an iPad from friend ( now deceased) I can get it to factory settings but cannot use it as have no passwords. What do I do?

I have been given an iPad from a friend ( now deceased). I have managed to get it back to factory settings but when I tried to use it I have message telling me to: contact original owner to have them remove this device from their account. I can’t obviously do this. To make things worse we cannot find any passwords. What can we do?

You can try contacting Support, but without proof of ownership they are unlikely to be able to remove activation lock : iTunes Store - Contact Us - Apple Support
