About activition lock

dear sir / madem

I have an iPhone 6S that brought my cousin from America and gave me as a gift. But when the set is used to see the set is activation lock. I could not even start after several attempts. When my cousin came to Bangladesh I was in India for medical treatment. After that I contacted my cousin back but he could not say anything about set lock. I wish I was an iPhone proud user. I have a box set to me. Please advise what I can do.

Thank you

The Activation Lock is an invaluable security feature that you will soon grow to appreciate once you have a working phone.

I have to tell you that It can not be bypassed and requires your knowledge of the passwords or the help of the person who originally set it up to de-activate it.

Without such knowledge, the phone is of no further use.

This is Apples document which explains the feature and the whole de-activation process in more detail. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201441
