Passcode fail

Hi I am New to the whole iPad world and I have forgotten the passcode on my iPad and it won't connect to iTunes due to an unknown error so what are my options now

Forgot passcode I just recently for some stupid reason changed my iPad mini 2's passcode. And i know what are you gonna say, but if i try to connect it to iTunes this error pops up and says: Your iPad has to be unlocked to connect to iTunes. After that, i could reset my iPad like nothing happened, but when it is done installing the software and is booting up, then when i see the lock screen, it still asks me the passcode and instead of the deafult ios 12 wallpaper, my old wallpaper is back. Also there is no first-time setup. So, i hope that someone can help me, and here is all information about my device: iPad mini 2 running IOS 12 32gb storage (lol i don't know how this could be helpful but..)

Forgot iPad Passcode I forgot my passcode for my iPad Air 2 device. I have followed all instructions. I've never synced with the iTunes account. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes for my Windows 7 (64-bit) laptop. I tried to resore the iPad to factory settings multiple times but this error message keeps popping up. What should I do?

it would help if you write more about the unknown error they usually have a number which is usually the key to what ones options are
