Hi Lisa,
You have posted in the Numbers for Mac forum, but your question seems to be about Pages. No problem, the formula is the same in both a Numbers table and a Pages table.
Formula in B2 =A2×0.25
Type that as =A2*0.25
Type an Asterisk * for the multiplication operator. Numbers changes it to × (don't type a lower case x)
This is the new way in Numbers (and Pages) to show formulas as if we are using a calculator.
or perhaps this is more familiar to you:
Formula in B3 =A3×25÷100
Type that as =A3*25/100
Type a Slash / for the division operator. Numbers changes it to ÷
I find it easiest to "point and click" on a cell to insert the cell reference.
Please call back with questions.
Regards,
Ian.
Late edit: (I missed the edit time limit). My reply applies to Numbers 4 and Pages 6 running under macOS Sierra. Your profile shows iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), iOS 6.1.2
Is that correct?
Ian.
