percentages, how do i do it?

trying to put a formula in pages from numbers in a table, whats the formula to find 25%?

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), iOS 6.1.2

Hi Lisa,


You have posted in the Numbers for Mac forum, but your question seems to be about Pages. No problem, the formula is the same in both a Numbers table and a Pages table.

Formula in B2 =A2×0.25

Type that as =A2*0.25

Type an Asterisk * for the multiplication operator. Numbers changes it to × (don't type a lower case x)

This is the new way in Numbers (and Pages) to show formulas as if we are using a calculator.


or perhaps this is more familiar to you:

Formula in B3 =A3×25÷100

Type that as =A3*25/100

Type a Slash / for the division operator. Numbers changes it to ÷


I find it easiest to "point and click" on a cell to insert the cell reference.
