Does gaming killing my MacBook Air?

hi,

i have MacBook air and I've have a friend that plays cs go on his pc and I was wondering if I can play it on my mac. It gets really hot btw even when playing minecraft. I was wondering that cs go will heat up so much that it will like slow down my mac after a month or so. Am i correct? Pls help me i know that it will kill the battery so quick will pluging it to the charger help the cycle? Sorry for giving much info
