When I open icloud mail on laptop it wants to snyc mail.Will not accept password I use for Apple apps help about to go nuts

IPAD settings: No password provided for Bellsouth.. Please go to Mail Account Setting and enter a password. Other people have the same issue.. My bellsouth email just stopped working earlier this year (I’m sure it wasn’t working may 2021.. so probably 2-3 months before this is when it stopped working). .
