So i love jamming through garage band. I send my audio into my iMac via a USB to 1/4 cable. Im wondering, if i wanted garage bands to act as my "amp" and send the audio to my speaker cabinet, how would i do this?

your Mac is not going to be able to drive a 4x12 cabinet, you'll need to plug the Mac headphone-OUT into an Amp, then the amp into the cabinet.
think of the Mac not as an amp, but like series of effects pedals and boxes that you plug into an amp

worth a try, sure. just use as little overdrive as possible on the physical amp.
also, be sure to start with the volume on the Mac turned down low, bring it up gradually (headphone level is hotter than instrument level, so you don't want to blast your amp's input)
Oh shucks lol. Thanks. I'll give that a shot, but that kind of defeats the amp modeling for me since my real amp will effect the chain. Maybe if I leave it on the clean channel?
