my trash account has vanished and I don't know how to get it back.

What happens when you try to delete an email, and what shows as the trash folder for the account in Settings > Accounts & Passwords > account > Account > Advanced > Deleted Mailbox (and 'Move Discarded Messages Into', that is 'Deleted Mailbox') ?
