how to stop song repeating on i pod playlist

my i pod now will not stop repeating same song and I can not determine how to make it play the playlist in order without repeating the same song.

Turn off the Repeat function.

Go to the Now Playing screen
Drag the screen upwards until you can see the Shuffle and Repeat buttons.
Turn off the Repeat function

Tapping the Repeat button cycles through Repeat off, Repeat (all), Repeat 1.

If the button is grey, Repeat is off

If the button is red, Repeat is on

If the button is red and there is a 1 in the arrows, Repeat 1 is on (and plays the same song over and over again)
