An elderly relative in another city has replaced her mini Ipad. She is unable to access her gmail account as she has forgotten its password. We have followed add an account and other recovery instructions without success. I hope someone can help us. Thank you.

Tried google recovery multiple times...attempt to change password, answered security questions, code to different email (not recovery) did not work.
Google unable to confirm gmail is hers.
Barrier seems to be the associated new devise, forgotten password and multiple attempts from 2 states. Google cannnot confirm this is her email.
Able to download from backup Icloud, Gmail’s From July 2017. Able to send and retrieve emails from cloud. Unable to send or retrieve current gmails.
Read, but not confirmed that Icloud only saves gmails after 180 days.
i hope this is not a lost cause. Appreciate any suggestions.

If she's forgotten her Gmail password, then she will need to contact the Gmail account team. Doesn't sound like an Apple problem. Account Recovery - Google Accounts
