I can get to iTunes store etc. and I can sign in here but cannot view account. Name and email ID are greyed out on drop-down.

The name and email address will be greyed out on the Account drop-down menu on your computer's iTunes, they are basically just informatory and telling you the logged in account. Is the View My Account menu option greyed out on it ?
