Do Not Disturb: Battery Drainage?

I've been using my iPhone 8 for a month now and I've always put it on "Do Not Disturb" when asleep. I've noticed that when I do not receive notifications (though Wi-Fi is on and 4G is not) my battery remains 100%. Though, when I have received some notifications throughout the night (with Do Not Disturb turned on) my battery goes from 100% to 80% or 85%.

My battery is not faulty several apps have indicated that it runs perfectly as it should. Can someone explain the simple physics to me why the iPhone drains battery when there are notification and I have DND on as it doesn't light up the screen therefore no energy is being used?

iPhone 8, iOS 11.2.5

I have the same problem, the same phone and I use it only for a month. Apparently this is a system error, I hope the update will fix the software.

once I was helped by a hard reset, but every day I do not want to do it...
