Question: Apple TV not recognizing Apple ID

My gen 1 Apple TV is not recognizing my Apple ID. I’ve unplugged multiple times, changed my password, signed in from other devices properly, but AppleTV will not recognize my Apple TV to let me rent/purchase content.

it states “Apple ID you entered couldn’t be found or your password was incorrect”

i cleared and reentered info, over an dappointment over - AppleID is working from other multiple devices - I can sign into Apple ID, just NOT with AppleTV where I am trying to purchase and play content.

any recommendations???

Talked to Apple tech today. “Apple was supposed to shut iTunes Store for 1G ATV off in May as per their announcement, but it does seem passwords are blocked now.”

Will do nothing, ,”Must pay in full to upgrade to new ATV. Hardware that depends on software doesn’t last forever”

No biggie - plenty of other streaming devices where you can purchase as well... for low or no cost for the equipment.

Uograded 5 iPhones to the new X... big purchase for Christmas. Sorry my ATV lasted so long... you will lose me for streaming for sure - and in the future I look elsewhere before I renew phones, inputted, etc.

Maybe a little short sighted Apple.
