Copy-paste function failure

I suddenly discovered that my copy-paste function in pages doesn't work anymore.

Then trying in other programs, like copy-paste a file in Finder to another place, doesn't work either...

I simply can not choose "paste" anymore (it stays light grey)

What can I do?

Mac mini, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

Try running this command in the terminal. Of course you'll have to type it in.

sudo update_dyld_shared_cache

Hit Return after you type in the command. Once the $ prompt shows, you can quit the Terminal.

Sorry, then restart.

Tried to restart, nothing.

In for example Pages, I select a text, select Copy in the menu and than want to paste, but "Paste" function is not even selectable... So strange, as I used it yesterday and shut down my computer and this morning after starting up, it's as if Paste function is completely disappeared!

Busy downloading your link now, will se what that brings up

You are running the latest OS with an absolute minimum of 4 GB RAM - doubling that would help tremendously.

And, you have CleanmyMac installed? Please follow their uninstall instructions and get rid of it. It cleans so well that it also gets rid of needed system files; other than that, it is of no help whatsoever.

And, Minis traditionally have a slow 5400 rpm hard drive which does everything (read/write) about 33% slower than the default 7200 rpm drive in 27" iMacs. I don't know a lot about Minis, so I'm not sure if that could be upgraded or not.

Edit: I just checked the tech specs of your Mini and it appears that not even the RAM is upgradeable. So, you don't have too many choices here; I'd suggest you be very careful and do not have more than one app open at any one time (that you are working on); quit it before opening the next as I saw that apps are crashing - that is usually the case when there isn't enough RAM. Combine that with a slow processor and hard drive and you need to be really conservative in your use.
