I have 116.63 GB free storage but it says this about my memory.

Would this be the problem?
As Kirk mentioned, your iMac is too old. However, there is an unsupported method. If you do a search for "High Sierra Old Macs" I'm sure you can find it. Just be aware it's unsupported and if you run into problems you are on your own. Make sure you have a good backup.

I will caution you against going the 'unsupported route" it is that way for a reason, any advice to go that way is bad, do not do it.
FWIW, no one advised the user to go the "unsupported route". Quite the opposite. ***
