Apple Computer sells malfunctioning product: Smart Keyboard

Product name: iPad Pro 12" and a Smart Keyboard

Purchase Date: September 2017.

Description of problem: the iPad Pro could lose the detection of the Smart Keyboard all of a sudden.

Solutions that had been tried:

1) re-installation of iOS: not working.

2) a new replacement of the Smart Keyboard: same problem persists.

3) refund: refused.

My assessment: the Smart Keyboard is a flawed product, which wastes money.

Smart Keyboard still creating problems I have a 3rd gen IPad Air with a Smart Keyboard from 2019. My problem is exactly as described in this thread. Smart Keyboard Connectors work erratically. Cmd+H works in apps, but no other keys. Number keys work when unlocking, but not in apps. Removing and re-attaching Smart Keyboard does not help. It seems that is is still a very bad product and a shame on Apple’s reputation. Has there been a solution or a refund program since the last posts?

Failure of Smart Keyboard for 10.5‑inch iPad Pro Hi, I have a Smart Keyboard for 10.5‑inch iPad Pro. I bought it in January 2019 and after months of error messages 'This Accessory is not supported' it has finally died completely. When the problems first started I would remove the keyboard and reconnect it and it would work again but recently it has completely stopped working. I have tried all the apple and online trouble shooting ideas but nothing works. There are lots of people discussing similar problems online and an article in Apple Insider magazine discussing Apple addressing this problem. https://appleinsider.com/articles/18/04/13/apple-offers-up-extended-repair-program-for-defective-ipad-pro-smart-keyboards I am able to read my serial number so rang Apple today but they said since it is out of warranty they will not help. A lifespan of under two years for a product that costs over £150 seems unacceptable to me. Has anyone else encountered similar problems or knows how I might resolve this? My ipad software is up to date, I've cleaned the contact points, restarted the ipad, switched off imessage and switched it on again.

My Smart Keyboard stopped working after one of the updates and I only have access to the screen keyboard which is very annoying. Has anyone else experienced this. I’ve had 2 updates since then and it worked for a short period after each but then it’s a constant fail. I’ve had this iPad since 2018 and it’s the first time this has happened. Thanks.
