Using Garage Band for podcast

I am trying to use Garage Band to record my podcast audio. However, it keeps looping my voice track, as if indexed to some time meter.

I have poked around but cannot find any setting to disable that.

Can anyone help?

Are you recording in GarageBand on a Mac or on an iPad? Your signature says "iPad 2, iOS 5.0.1", but the question is in the GarageBand for Mac forum.

In GarageBand for Mac disable the yellow cycle bar at the top of the track area to disable the cycle recording.
