After updating to Sierra, the scanner function of my Canon Inkjet MP150 printer doesn't work.

That's not what the Canon site says about your MP150. It is telling you that no driver was made for this printer since Lion (OS X 10.7) was released, and their 2014 update for 10.5/10.6/10.7. Thus, you are out of luck for Canon driver support on Sierra.


The Gutenprint site does provide driver support the Canon PIXMA MP150. It is in the 5.2.12.dmg installer written for Sierra. Whether it provides complete support for your printer is an unknown.


And of course, the already mentioned VueScan does support your printer without any Canon drivers requirement. VueScan is not freeware.
