New update issues

Every time I update my MacBook pro (mid 2012) to macOS High Sierra 10.13.3, the computer won't complete the restart and I eventually have to erase my hard drive and restart everything. How do I remove the update or not update?

When I try to reinstall, I get a notice that the macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 is encrypted. I am not a tech wiz and really need help.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), macOS Sierra (10.12.1)

High Sierra 10.13.4 not downloading I am stuck on High Sierra 10.13.1 (installed on laptop when purchased)A search for software updates via the apple icon/about this Mac doesn't take me to auto downloads (nothing happens) so I tried to download via the app store.I got most of the way through the download but when it went to install onto Macintosh HD I got this message - "You may not install to this volume because it is currently being encrypted".What does this mean?
